If the goal is "Physics from scratch", then why start with "Max identified five properties: information, integration, independence, dynamics and utility principles."? Start with scratch and deduce the required principles.

Why assume that a high-information-content process, can ever be completely described by a low-information-content description? Or do you really believe that consciousness is a low-information-content phenomenon?
