In the beginning I assume the MUH and if the Universe is a mathematical structure then the structure represents the fates; is this not so? And I back this up with the observation that the existence of humans is a great mystery, i.e. the anthropic principle, which could be naturally and elegantly explained if the Universe has a distinct final condition; the emergence of humans is a case of retro-causation. And I introduce the work of William Tiller and Walter Dibble to support this.
There is really only one level of reality, from the perspective of Ultimate truth, but from the perspective of Conventional truth there are many. In my essay I am referencing the "dual-space model" of William Tiller and Walter Dibble in which there are, and this is experimentally demonstrated, two distinct space-time volumes normally uncoupled but which can be coupled via human consciousness in the form of intent. It's really nothing but the reverse of symmetry breaking analogous to an inverted Higgs mechanism. According to the experimental work of Messrs. Tiller and Dibble, the human acupuncture meridian system is always at a partially coupled state and one can increase the coupling through various assorted spiritual practices, i.e. yoga of all types, meditation, chi gong, Heart Math, etc. Once one has increased their own state of coupling, they can extend this work to the Universe at large, leading to volumes of space-time which exhibit properties unlike those of our "normal" space-time, properties which allow events which are in actual defiance of accepted theory or "law."
And if you thoroughly explore the Tiller model you quickly come to realize that this has profound implications; it thoroughly supports the argument that the Universe has a distinct final condition. And to me, with my experience in yoga and meditation (following the Madhyamaka tradition of Tibetan Buddhism) this relates to Bardo simply by scaling up; the purpose of our existence is to prepare the Universe, spiritually (mentally), for the Bardo, so that it (the Universe) can successfully navigate the state between life and death, the intermediate state, the Bardo state, leading to a higher re-birth in a more advanced mathematical structure somewhere in the Mathematical Multiverse. And, of course, the beauty is that when it manifests in a higher state it takes us along for the ride! It's a conjecture but a conjecture based on what Mr. Putnam calls "innate knowledge."
And with regards to the harmonic oscillator as a general modeling mechanism, I believe this is the result of harmonic oscillation being a scale-free pattern in our Universe. And I feel this is somehow related to the dual-space phenomenon. In the yoga tradition this harmonic oscillation manifests between the feminine ida and the masculine pingala; in human society I believe it manifests as the Jungian archetype, "the brother-battle theme;" in the Universe I believe it manifests as dual-space. Why is this pattern seemly universal and general? I think Ben Goertzel takes a healthy crack at explaining that with his Magician Dynamics, a mathematical model in Pattern Space.
Some things to consider:
The Mayan calenders are some of the most advanced and accurate calenders humanity has ever produced. More than two millenia before Galileo, the Mayans realized that our solar system revolves around a central "Sun," what modern science now believes is a black hole. How did these ancient Mayans come to this knowledge?
In Mayan culture, to this day, when a baby is born and recognized as the re-incarnation of an advanced shaman, they wrap 13 cloth bands around their eyes and the child exists in complete darkness until the age of 10 or 13 at which time the bands are slowly removed one at a time with the final band removed in a sacred cave and in a sacred manner. In the Tibetan tradition, there are highly realized masters who spend a large portion of their life (decades) in darkness, they refer to it as "doing dark work." When these tulkus determine that it is time to leave this realm, i.e. exit their conventional body, they can turn their entire body into energy using only their mind; all that is generally left is fingernails, toenails, and a few tufts of hair. This is called the "Rainbow Body Phenomenon" and has been extensively studied by the Institute of Noetic Sciences and by the Catholic priest, Father Francis Tiso.
