Video Description

Is it possible that blocks covered with Velcro can tell us anything about how atoms are really constructed? The answer is YES! In a radical departure from quantum mechanics and the Rutherford planetary atom, we treat protons, neutrons and electrons as simple building blocks. As we build up these blocks, we find we can explain why different atoms bond with only a limited number of other atoms in particular geometric arrangements without using electron shells. This model allows us to simplify and build up atoms intuitively like connecting Lego bricks or tinker toys. Finally, a model that allows easy visualization of heavy atoms that even a child can understand. Does this represent a radical new reality for the atom? You decide. Paradigm shift time....

Although an interesting concept I feel as if the presentation of it was lacking and not nearly as interesting as the idea suggests. My attention was lost several times throughout the course of the video - I think that if the presentation was a bit more intriguing this problem could be easily solved. I like the idea though, it takes guts to express your own ideas on such theoretical concepts.

Dear Franklin Hu,

I appreciate your hard work and the simplicity of how you presented the information in your video. I gave you 3 stars. Would you mind looking at my submission "The Escape - Physics & Fairytales"? We took the classic story of Cinderella and presented where she was trying to escape through the prism of physics. We would really appreciate a vote from you. Thanks.
