Video Description

We think that physics is tons of fun. So why not make a song about it? We explore a wide variety of topics in the realm of physics. And just a warning: if you start dancing the kinematic shuffle... it's not our fault.

Hi David and Matt,

I enjoyed watching your video that was both: fun and educative as you rap along through the Doppler effect, dark matter and of course the kinematic shuffle! I especially liked the galactic and 90's background animation and the cloned Matts. I wish you good luck with your PhD, Matt (that hopefully grows out your ears easily) and hope to see more of your videos David!

It would be great if you find the time to watch our video and give us some feedback. I hope you two do well in the competition and there will be more physic raps down the line. Keep it up,

Madeleine

    Hi again David and Matt,

I forgot to ask you guys: can give us your rating and feedback on our video too? Since we all need at least 10 community votes it would be great if we could support each other to share our knowledge and passion for physics :) It would be greatly appreciated and hopefully this way we both make it among the finalists. You two really made a fun and motivating video and I hope it will be appreciated in the community!

So there is only one more thing to ask for: will there be a follow-up group dance video for the kinematic shuffle? ;)

    Best wishes,

    Madeleine

    Piezoelectricity: A Love Story

Done! See you on the finalists!

(one suggestion only - your dancing! hehe.

You couldn't know, but I am a dance teacher, hehe.

Everything was ok, your moves were fine but to get more impact, to get more "presence", you should elevate your elbows. Review your video, and see the impact on your dance if you elevate your elbows, as you did on the last frame. That one was perfect!!)

Keep dancing, keep making videos, keep doing Physics, and please don't take for granted the fundamentals - Physics needs a Paradigm shift.

    All the best

    Teresa

Thanks for your comments on my video David...

I'll get to viewing and rating your video soon.

    Enjoy,

    David,

I left a rating for your energetic video a couple days ago (without leaving a comment), and I see that it is doing well... except you still need a couple of votes to get to 10... I've seen you've been asking around for votes, and I do hope you get them!

I have also a video that is in need of community votes... it is part of a group of videos called "This Is Physics": it does not contain a warp bubble or an ever-lasting battery cell, but it features Einstein riding of a meter stick, an "iceberg of mystery" and a slot machine that creates universes!!! If you have time to take a look at it and rate it, it would be quite appreciated! Here's the direct link:

    Good luck in the contest!

    I must say,

It was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, David, when I saw the word Rap. I've worked with a few rappers, and it's not my favorite genre. I agree with Teresa's comments above, though; men shy away from lifting their arms too far because it looks effeminate, but raising your elbows would make some of your moves look more cool instead. Keep it up. Maybe you can reach a few kids who would want to be scientists, if they thought it was cool too.

    All the Best,

    Jonathan

So fun and really informative. You two did a great job! Bill Nye had better watch his back!

If you get a chance, can you please vote on our 2 short videos? We would be really grateful.

Man. How can I not like a fellow rapping physicist? This video had an excellent "geek factor" a la AlpineKat :) Good green screen work too. I feel like you might be able to delve a little deeper into your subject matter though... the real fun comes when you start trying to find rhymes for the more bizarre concepts on physics. It's impossible for the rhyme to be cliché when literally no one has ever tried to rhyme that word before :P Check out Tom Lehrer for some inspiration.

If you wanna check out and rate my videos, they're the A Capella Science ones. Keep working on that flow, homie!
