Physics has narrowed down every event in our universe to a combination of four fundamental forces. The way we did this was by seeing what seemed like two phenomena as simply two sides of the same phenomenon, as with electromagnetism. This understanding help spur the development of our modern world, from the use of electric generators in nuclear energy generation to electric guitars. The amount of fun now possible due to today's understanding of physics is incredible! Thank a physicist (any physicist) next time you ride a ski lift or attend a kick butt concert.
