The Nature of Time

Hi to both of you, I agree too with david, the time is a kind of emergent properties due to the motions in fact, that permits even the evolution, a duration,changes, variable......without motions , no time. The time so in a sense exists due to fact that it is measurable due to these motions and changes.

We don`t have some type of real thing, presence, or force, called time, in our Universe. You say we can not have motion in our Universe, if we do not have some kind of real thing, presence, or force called time?

David is saying, "that time does not exist", as he says above.

I think we have motion in our timeless Universe!

The planet`s rotational motion is the fundamental physical mechanism causing our confusion about the nature of time.

Hi Jim,

You know , I consider indeed that we have motions and we have invented this time us the humans to measure these motions and even the mechanics newtonian or our quantum mechanics or even our cosmology. For example if you take the simple newtonian mechanics, the acceleration a is = to dv/dt so the time is taken into account because we have simply a change of velocity in time , the force F=ma considers the acceleration wich is too under this time due to the other equation that I wrote, so the time is not a force but a parameter utilised in the force it is different.In fact many things that we utilise in physics consider this parameter invented by the humans to better understand the motions and their changes.

There is nothing of odd with this time when we just consider it like a duration and correlated with the evolution and the motions. Imagine if you insert the time not existing in our equations ? that cannot be calculated and measured .....the velocity for example it is the same, it is v=dx/dt so it is the distance on the time, there still it is a change and without this parameter the time, we cannot calculate the change and so the distances made after a time.

So Jim I speak about the fact that this parameter that we have invented for the motions and changes is essential to measure and calculate. In cosmology it is the same we consider the light speed c and the evolution and that permits to extrapolate the motions of this cosmology. The real important question for me is with the early universe ... is the time foundamental or emergent, all is there in fact.In other words what is responsible of this arrow of time.

This time is really taken like a foundamental quantity in fact , a scalar.Even in the equation of schrodinger, this time is essential......in thermo its irreversibility is essential on the entropical arrow of time. In mechanics, newtonian or others, it is a foundamental. And even in the general relativity it is considered.

Hi Jim,

It is a sense given for the law of entropy. It is for example for a closed system without equilibrium and so the level of entropy must increase.So it permits still to measure simply the levels of entropies at different moments in time. The time ia always in the same direction in fact. It is this irreversibility the big difference witgh this time taken like a dimension , but for me it is not really a dimension due to this irreversibility but a scalar different.

You know Jim, this time in its general irreversibility is very intriguing. In fact I believe that we must consider it relativelly in function of how we consider it. The real relevance is to link the quantum mechanics , the general relativity and the time more the thermo more the cosmological arrow of time and our psychology of interpretation more and it is the most important for me the gravitational arrow of time, WHY ? because for me the main codes and informations are gravitational and are correlated with the complexity of the evolution , that is why we need the codes and main informations of this space vacuum to harmonise all this in a pure irreversibility. So the paradox is about the disorders for the actual reasoning but not for the entropical gravitational arrow of time .........

This entropy Jim is a kind of concept to measure the states or levels of disorders and uncertainty generally. We utlise it in many systems , in theoretical physics there is a direction . It seems important to correlate with the shannon entropy and the informations , it is there that it becomes relevant considering our actual standard model wich is not complete about the main philosophical causes and so the main informations creating our topologies, geometries, there are deeper parameters entropical to superimpose at my humble opinion. We consider actually the second law of thermo and the heat , but these properties are mergent from a deeper logic .It is this the main important thing to discover. The works of von neumann and my theory if we have 3 main systems of spheres merging could permit to go deeper in these entropical analysis and the correlated time emergent due to motions and changes.

After thousands of years of using time in equations, time still has not been understood.

Why? It`s my observation that we use the planet`s rotational motion to provide the basis of our time keeping systems.

Hi David,

Time is not a river of water flowing, that we can measure. Time, as a thing, is assumed to flow. We don`t need it to, because we use the Earth`s rotational motion to base our time keeping systems on. We use the motion to measure.

Clocks measure rotation.

Hi David, I've just come across your buried post where you say that 'configuration of existence' is vague. I'm referring to material things and substances that exists. Configuration means 'pattern of' or 'arrangement of'. A time, is a pattern of material things and material substances. A different time is a different pattern. Foundational passage of time is the change of pattern of what materially exists. This is different from emergent passage of time which is the sequence of observation products. It is not synchronized with Foundational passage of time because of, primarily, transmission delay ( of potential sensory stimuli eg. "light".)

Hi David. Given that vision and hearing require sensory input. And that input is used to form Present experience. It can be argued that the inputs that are not yet received but in the environment -Now (I.e. potential stimuli) be regarded as pre-written future. Both pre-written future and records and memories are -parts of -Now, not different time realms.

When we are sitting in a base on the Dark side of the Moon, we will be able to see the Beautiful planet Earth, imperceptibly revolving against the dark Star filled sky.

There will be a clock on the wall showing Earth time. Also a clock for each time zone, so people can place calls without waking the recipients.

There will be a Moon clock on the wall for local use, but I`m not sure what motion it will be based on?

But, it will be based on motion.

the second has been utilised and is an unite of measure with the cesium atom and its oscillations.And we have simply correlated this with the minute in the basis 60.It is just a tool you know to measure the motions and changes.

Hi Jim, it is always utilised in our equations, mainly in the newtonian physics like in the relativity , even for the gravitational constant too.Even for the schrodinger equation or others.In fact this time is everywhere utilised with this second like basis
