Essay Abstract
The nexus between life and time is described as the anima which distinguishes between animate and inanimate material. Because of the problems associated with a direct study of time, an indirect approach is made whereas the characteristics of processes such as entropy, the movement of celestial bodies, and life are studied. The conclusion drawn is that life is so closely entwined with time that the two cannot be separated. A physiologic seat of time awareness is identified and the psychological effect on the evolution of our culture discussed.
