Essay Abstract

The measurement problem in quantum mechanics is considered here to be comprised of the vacuum catastrophe and the mass gap existence question. That is, not having a working definition of the quantum vacuum (much less an accurate one) and yet expecting deterministic prediction of the observables may be likened to the futility in music/acoustics of attempting to predict the nth harmonic without first adopting a "fundamental frequency" or scale. It turns out that, given any system of waves, the norm/normal i.e. the reference phase/frame is never a deterministic prediction. However, as is shown by the ancient Pythagoreans, after a "fundamental" is adopted, every gauge else namely the harmonics (nodes/antinodes) are entirely predictable deterministically. Similarly, in mathematics the sets e.g. the natural or real numbers are predictable basing only on a number basis (the Peano constant; the imaginary unit). Failing this, one is locked ab initio in Russell's paradox. Thinking along this line, the solution I offer here to the measurement problem (and to the problem of quantizing gravity) is straightforward: physics must stop seeing Planck's quantum of the observables (v = E/徴) as some fixed abstract quantity and instead start seeing it quite simply as the given mind. Meaning, it is physically speaking the self-referencing state proper of G旦del's theorem and hence own un-decidable qualitatively -- own "entropy" or so-called natural unit. Basing on this postulate, I attempt here to model the mind in man as actually the applicable holographic event horizon (Heisenberg Cut) namely as that norm/normal (quantum/vacuum) whose interference pattern or so-called Hawking radiation encodes the valid spectrum of observables. Conversely, one can now explain that, precisely because it is by definition itself the operative norm/normal of speed of light, a mind cannot actually renormalize gravitation.

Permit me to make some clarifications to aid your appreciation of my thesis. Here, precisely, is the question:

Is GГ¶del's mathematical "Undecidable" Landauer's physical "Entropy"/limit?

Might we on this basis then model every mind as being own authentic holographic event horizon?

This will be in the understanding that GГ¶del's undecidability actually is physically speaking Planck's natural unit; and defining every mind typically thus as own authentic "Planck charge" i.e. quantum vacuum.

Answering in the affirmative, we attempt presently to model the mind i.e. the observer proper as own quantum of the observable(s) and "Matter" (the observable) as altogether the associated interference Pattern.

This will suggest that in modern electromagnetism every mind is to be as a definition physically own unit refractive index (constant refractive index) i.e. own quantum or vacuum proper (v = E/h) of Planck's theory. This we call presently the quantum vacuum (hitherto perhaps the harmonic oscillator or cosmological constant or free space).

Now, this assumption should lead us ultimately to the kind of non-linear electromagnetism of Yang-Mills theory such that it is the interference pattern or self-referential "split" of a quantum vacuum that qualifies as its pair production (its spectrum of non-commuting observables).

Pair production in the specific case of non-linear electromagnetism should give rise then to a kind of relativity of the elementary charge strictly of the Dirac quantum of charge or of the modern mass gap (implying what is known typically as "consciousness"/observables).

We must think then of the mass gap (elementary charge) as the nth harmonic i.e. as the minimal amplitude of our quantum vacuum or fundamental frequency (harmonic oscillator).

Every nth harmonic must double, therefore, as the natural unit of time i.e. as the observable light cone so that (Д§/E) = в€љ(kД§) = в€љ(Д§/О»c). Wherein k is the wave vector or phase constant, E is our probe energy a.k.a. the mind, О»c is the associated Compton wavelength and Д§ is Dirac's constant.

Over all, answering our question above in the affirmative will mean that we explain differently Dirac's magnetic mono-pole so that it is closer to Einstein's null geodesic or light cone (space-time manifold); closer indeed to the surface area of Gauss' law.

This in turn brings in the possibility that every mind is to be modelled as being own authentic holographic event horizon.

Dear Chidi Idika!

I just read your work, but I didn't understand much there - I still have to think about it. But I like your message. I myself associate Mind with spatial metrics. I think that the effect of consciousness occurs at the border, when the four-dimensional space-time is closed with the quaternionic space-time in one piece. And this is really happening: the closure occurs through an imaginary unit - a quantum segment of the time axis. (I wrote about this in a 2003 article in Numbers in Space - in the conference materials Quantum Mind 2003. )
