Essay Abstract

The pursuit of knowledge has led to a spectacular understanding of the cosmos. Mathematics and the natural sciences together have yielded the standard model of cosmology today: Lambda-CDM. There are limits to this knowledge. Along with observational/experimental limitations there are reasons why particular programs cannot be computed, propositions proven, and physical systems predicted. These constraints are not often explored in connection with cosmology, this essay will show that they can inform cosmology as an "envelope of emergence."

"The ΛCDM model uses cold dark matter (CDM) as a parameter to fit data ..." Is Milgrom the world's greatest living scientist? The string theorists think that I am wrong about Milgrom -- I say that the string theorists are guaranteed to fail unless they can explain the empirical successes of MOND.

What might be wrong with the following?

Kroupa, Pavel, Marcel Pawlowski, and Mordehai Milgrom. "The failures of the standard model of cosmology require a new paradigm." In THE THIRTEENTH MARCEL GROSSMANN MEETING: On Recent Developments in Theoretical and Experimental General Relativity, Astrophysics and Relativistic Field Theories, pp. 696-707. 2015.
