Essay Abstract

1. Abstract: syntax, semantics and literature We might attribute the explosive development in mathematics since the end of the nineteenth century to the philosophy of formalism which liberated mathematics from its connection to observed reality and required only that it be an internally consistent symbolic system. Formalism exemplifies the role of unconstrained creative thought in arriving at understanding and exploitation of our environment, the heart of human evolution. A leading example of this phenomenon is Riemann's invention of the differentiable manifold that enabled Einstein's description of general relativity. I wish to bring theology into the scientific domain by exploring the hypothesis that the universe is divine. This essay suggests some of the consequences, which amount to a cognitive cosmology, flowing into physics from this assumption.

Dear Jeffrey Nicholls,

I enjoyed your essay and agree with your hypothesis.

You touched on a number of current issues in physics. It's not clear to me that some of these issues are not based on false assumptions. This does not detract from your hypothesis, but it may not lend much support either. For an alternative treatment of the same issue I invite you to read my essay, which I just updated today. Deciding on the nature of time and space

Best regards and good luck in the contest.

Dear Jeffrey Nicholls,

I am not a physicist. I do have a record here at FQXi.org due to my participation in all of their essay contests. I never do well. My first contribution was "The Absoluteness of Time", a soft introduction to expose a failure of theoretical physics that involves electric charge. More generally, my efforts are directed at exposing the failure of theoretical physics to support its teachings with direct empirical evidence. I rated your essay. You can disagree with what I say with no possible penalty.

I have to travel, and, may be unable to respond during this week. I find that there is a major problem with trusting theoretical physics to lead us toward an understanding the nature of the universe. The problem is due to the change of physics from being 'The rigorous science of measurements.' and yielding its authority to 'The speculative science of guesses'. Theoretical physics has left errors and omissions behind in the fundamentals of physics while teaching imaginative ideas that lack direct empirical support.

I think that you make a mistake that other sciences also make. You are attempting to connect your findings to the 'foundational' science of physics. Theoretical physics is not foundational! If you decide to look into this further, I suggest that you perhaps read my essays from the 2008 and 2014 contests. Time is short for reading essays and rating them. I will not distract you any further. I sincerely wish you good luck in this contest.

Dear Jeffrey Nicholls,.

You say Universe is Divine, I too accept. If the Universe is God, then will that have a death and birth? I feel God dont have a birth or death, so do the Universe. Every thing in universe is created separately, and will have its own death. But universe wont die as a whole.... What do you say.

The Dynamic Universe Model is based on this concept.

Hope you will have look at my essay "A properly deciding, Computing and Predicting new theory's Philosophy" to further this concept

Best wishes to your essay
