Nice portrayal of the history of earths chemistry and biology, though I have not read dr. Lane's book so I do not know how much of this is a summary of his book. But despite the erudition of the writer, the text does not convince me of the Fibonacci style numerology of the relation of quaternions to mind. Even though the writer seems to have earned his PhD, and the writing seems intelligent, this unfortunately has not been the most captivating essay for me.
