I’m talking about the “systems” aspects of the world.
I’m saying that “quantum number jumps” are the ONLY moving parts in the entire real-world mathematical system, the only feasible candidates. (Or perhaps someone else would like to suggest what they think are the moving parts of the real-world system???)
Because equations alone can never represent what is moving the real-world system, they can only represent the consequence of movement, and this consequence is due to the fact that equations represent mathematical relationships between the categories.
So, 1) there is a separate aspect of the world required to move the system, and to move living things, and 2) this aspect can’t be represented by equations alone, you need to use algorithmic symbols to represent the “systems” aspects of the world.
I’m saying that consciousness of on-the-spot mathematical situations, and quantum number jumps, are both necessary “systems” aspects of a viable, moving real-world mathematical system. These aspects can only be represented using algorithmic symbols, together with the usual symbols for categories, relationships between categories (i.e. equations), and numbers that apply to the categories.
The ONLY mystery about 1) quantum number jumps and 2) consciousness of mathematical situations is why people ever thought that equations alone were sufficient to represent a viable, moving real-world mathematical system. In fact, a viable, moving mathematical system can only be represented by algorithmic symbols, plus the symbols for categories, equations and numbers. Life can only arise out of a pre-existing system.
