The "rules of quantum physics" never "lose their grip". Everything macro about the world is mediated via the micro "quantum" level.
The only actual issue is: when our real-world moving system is symbolically represented in terms of categories, relationships/ equations and numbers, what is causing individual numbers, and bulk quantities of numbers, to change/ jump?
Clearly, it is matter itself, i.e. the substance of the world itself, which is literally causing the numbers (that apply to the categories) to change/ jump. And cause is a thing that can only be symbolically represented using algorithmic/ logical connective symbols; cause can't be represented using equation-symbols.
