It seems MDT is simpler than your tehory, while also having far more ranging consequences in the realm of explanations for physical phenomena.

Simple proofs of MDT:

Over the past few decades prominent physicists have noted that physics has diverged away from its classical, heroic journey traditionally defined by describing, fathoming, and characterizing foundational truths of physical reality via simple, elegant, logically-consistent postulates and equations humbling themselves before empirical reality. Herein the spirit of physics is again exalted by the heroic words of the Greats--by Galileo, Newton, Faraday, Maxwell, Planck, Einstein, Bohr, and Schrodinger--the Founding Fathers upon whose shoulders physics stands. And from that pinnacle, a novel physical theory is proposed, complete with a novel physical model celebrating a hitherto unsung universal invariant and an equation reflecting the foundational physical reality of a fourth dimension expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions at the rate of c, or dx4/dt=ic, providing both the "elementary foundations" for relativity which Einstein yet sought and QM's "characteristic trait"--entanglement, and its nonlocal, probabilistic nature. ABSTRACT

In his 1912 Manuscript on Relativity, Einstein never stated that time is the fourth dimension, but rather he wrote x4 = ict. The fourth dimension is not time, but ict. Despite this, prominent physicists have oft equated time and the fourth dimension, leading to un-resolvable paradoxes and confusion regarding time's physical nature, as physicists mistakenly projected properties of the three spatial dimensions onto a time dimension, resulting in curious concepts including frozen time and block universes in which the past and future are omni-present, thusly denying free will, while implying the possibility of time travel into the past, which visitors from the future have yet to verify. Beginning with the postulate that time is an emergent phenomenon resulting from a fourth dimension expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions at the rate of c, diverse phenomena from relativity, quantum mechanics, and statistical mechanics are accounted for and unified with a hitherto unsung universal invariant dx4/dt=ic. After an admittedly quickish read through your essay & some of the attached material, I must say I like the simplicity & potential for explanatory power of your theory. I do have one or two perhaps naive questions though.

Firstly, could you clarify whether or not the MDT 4th dimension is radiation only? ie consisting entirely of null surfaces, or does matter propagate there other than as photons?

Secondly, the invariant planck wavelength of the radiation manifested by the expansion would seem to imply that wavelength/energy is purely *locally* determined relative to the Lorentz signature of *local* space, independant of the wavelength when emitted from a source or prior to entering a gravitational field? Doesn't this conflict with the "observed" cosmic (3D) expansion red shift & the CMB for example? This also seems to imply that a photon moving toward a centre of mass would gain energy which, correct me if I'm wrong, is not normally observed?

Finally, a question on energy conservation. As energy is always observed to be conserved *within 3D space*, could you clarify how in MDT the "lost" energy of red shift & the "gained" energy of blue shift is accounted for *within 3D space* ?

A photon has zero rest mass. Ergo none of the photon is at rest.

And again, this supports MDT's fundamental tenet and offers yet another proof of a fourth expanding dimension: dx4/dt=ic. To move at the velocity of light means to exist in a state of absolute motion. And again, the fourth dimension defines absolute motion as it is propagating at the velocity of light, while teh three psatial dimensions define rest.

In MDT the three spatial dimensions define a state of rest, while the fourth expanding dimension defines absolute motion at c. Ergo zero rest mass implies zero rest, which implies that the photon exists entirely in the fourth dimension. Any time matter is caught in the fourth dimension, it appears as energy and moves with the veloicty c. Hence E=mc^2!

Now it is interesting that in order for an object to gain velocity, it must have energy added to it. And this adds to the object's mass, while also making it appear shorter in the three spatial dimensions (length contraction). Now that energy would exist entirely in the fourth dimension, and as the object gained more and more mass in teh fourth dimension, it would have a greater and greater probability of existing in the fourth dimension, and thus moving.

I would guess that only objects of zero rest mass can appear in the 4th dimension, as only then can all their mass be in the moving dimension. Any rest mass would imply that part of the object has a probability of being at rest in the three spatial dimensions.

The redhsift happens because as a photon moves away from a massive object, the space becomes less and less stretched, and the photon's wavelength appears longer and longer, as shown in the attached diagram; as the expansion of the fourth dimension is a constant, unaffected by gravity. The result of the constancy of dx4/dt=ic combined with the stretching of space results in time moving slower closer to massive objects, as illustrated in the figure.

Here's an interesting post of mine from an amazon thread:

Moving Dimensions Theory stipulates that there is a frame of absolute rest--the three spatial dimensions (which of course can still bend, curve, and move in the presence of mass), and a frame of absolute motion--the fourth expanding dimension.

Now MDT agrees 100% with relativity. All of relativity's mathematics (the Lorentz transformation/time dialation/E=mc^2) are derived from the fundamental universal invariant dx4/dt=ic, which also gives rise to Einstein's principle of relativity. The brilliance of MDT is that it also unfreezes time (explaining away Godel's paradox of frozen time) while granting us quantum entanglement (explaining away the EPR paradox), while also giving us a *physical* model for time and all its *physical* arrows and asymmetries as well as entropy--a *physical* fact of our reality which relativity never accounted for before MDT came along to exalt relativity with its more elementary *physical* foundations--dx4/dt=ic.

MDT agrees 100% with Einstein's principle of relativity: "If, relative to K, K' is a uniformly moving co-ordinate system devoid of rotation, then natural phenomena run their course with respect to K' according to exactly the same general laws as with respect to K. This statement is called the principle of relativity. -Einstein, 1954"

Now an interesting thing about all your fancy-schmancy math is that you can find no frame wherein a photon has a rest mass. Nor can you find any frame wherein a photon ages.

So right there MDT acknowledges the cold, hard, *physical* fact that a photon never, never ages, and thus, that there is a frame of absolute motion; which implies there must also be a frame of absolute rest.

If you can find a frame wherein a photon ages or wherein it gains mass via your fancy-schmancy math, I will give you a free 45surf t-shirt with the equation dx4/dt=ic on it, but I will cross out the equation as seen here:

Well, if you can find a trickety-trick-trick coordinate transformation to give a pohton a rest mass, or to make it experience time and age, then I will also become suspicious of coordinates. Until then, dx4/dt=ic.

The machines for measuring time generally use changes in energy to measure time. Changes in energy incorporate the motion of photons, or light. So when we measure the velocity of light, we are always measuring it relative to the velocity of light, and thus it is constant in all frames; and too, a result of this setup brough about by dx4/dt=ic is that it is impossible to perform an experiment in any given inertial frame to detect its absolute motion--Einstein's principle of relativity.

But nonetheless, a photon is always in absolute motion--it has no mass--all of it is in the fourth expanding dimension or dx4/dt=ic.

    1. Every entity has a velocity of c through the three spatial dimensions.

    2. All observers agree that a photon has a velocity of c through the three spatial dimensions.

    3. If a photon had any velocity component through the fourth dimension, its velocity would be other than c, which is impossible.

    4. Ergo the velocity of the photon is zero through the fourth dimension.

    5. Thus, a photon provides a tracer and tracker of the movement and character of the fourth dimension.

    6. The fourth dimension is expanding at the rate of c,as is also seen in Minkowski's x4=ict (dx4/dt=ic) from which all of relativity may be derived from the invariance of the Minkowski spacetime metric. Thus the expansion of the fourth dimension naturally leads to all of relativity.

    7. The expansion of the fourth dimension is the foundational cause of quantum nonlocality and thus its probability, as a photon has an equal chance of being found anywhere upon a sphere expanding at the rate of c, which is exactly how the expansion of x4 manifests itself.

    8. The one-way expansion of the forth dimension provides the foundational asymmetry for time and all its arrows, as well as the second law of thermodynamics.

The figure is Sir Isaac Newton's revolutionary drawing of a cannonball being fired off a mountaintop at the North Pole. The drawing depicts what happens as the cannonball is fired with higher and higher velocities. At first, the cannonball lands fairly close to the cannon. Then, with a higher velocity, it lands farther away upon the earth's curved surface. Ultimately, as Newton's figure shows, if the cannonball is fired with a great enough velocity, it will orbit the earth and return to point on the mountaintop from whence it began. Bruno or Copernicus could have drawn it. Galileo could have drawn it. Kepler could have drawn it, and perhaps he should have! But none of them did. It was Newton who drew it.
