Essay Abstract

ABSTRACT OF REALITY IDENTIFICATION Reality is always new, unique, and free and because of this, reality is immeasurable and constantly changing dynamically here and now. Analog and Digital are purportedly fixed measuring tools of there and then, and consequently they are always old and restricted and cannot be applied to any real situation. The new status of reality is explained. It is compared with the dated narrative of religion and science. The similarity in the postulations of religion and science is remarked upon, and the thought processing templates used by Hegal, Freud, Thomas Aquinas, and Einstein are found to be indistinguishable. After offering an alternate explanation of the old there and then abstract Big Bang theory, the conclusion that the new here and now of reality is reached.

Dear Joe,

just to let you know I have read your essay. Some more breaks in the writing would have made it easier. You don't seem to have answered the essay question but have just said it is irrelevant. Regarding also as irrelevant all scientific and religious thought. An unusual position to take when competing in a physics competition.

"Lionel Trilling has said:

Physical science in our day lies beyond the intellectual grasp of most men...This exclusion of most of us from the mode of thought which is habitually said to be the characteristic achievement of the modern age is bound to be experienced as a wound given to our intellectual self-steem. About this humiliation we all agree to be silent: but can we doubt that it has consequences, that it introduces into the life of mind a significant element of dubiety and alienation which must be taken into account in any estimate that is made of the present fortunes of mind." From _Albert Einstein_ : Historical and cultural Perspectives by Fritz Stern 1982 Princeton university press.

But that was then... Best wishes, Georgina.

Joe,

Your essay has interesting examples illustrating the inherent imperfection and imprecision in practical measurement procedures, and the apparent arbitrariness in systems of thought that divide up reality. It would have improved the essay to structure the arguments and relate them more clearly to the theme question of the contest.

Also, I noticed that the second paragraph of your essay has remarkable resemblance to the following passage from the bahiya sutta:

"In reference to the seen, there will be only the seen. In reference to the heard, only the heard. In reference to the sensed, only the sensed. In reference to the cognized, only the cognized. That is how your should train yourself. When for you there will be only the seen in reference to the seen, only the heard in reference to the heard, only the sensed in reference to the sensed, only the cognized in reference to the cognized, then, Bahiya, there is no you in terms of that."

Regards,

Tom

Joe,

Read your essay and wondered if you pondered about the relevance of the evil twins: the singularity of the Big Bang vs. black holes? I discussed this in my essay.

Hi Joe

Nice essay. Probably the language, also the style and content. Did you know they recently found some quite old galaxies 13.2bn years away?

I'd be interested if you read my essay, if you can follow the logic. It actually seems to extends to a big bounce, but that's the least important bit.

Bets wishes

Peter
