The elephant in the room is that, all the experiments and theorems and simulations and controversy about Bell's Theorem amounts to nothing more than demonstrating the following fundamental principle of reality:
"COINS ARE NOT GLOVES"
In a previous post (Feb 4, 2014 1413 GMT), I noted that:
Bell's Theorem is concerned with three things:
1) Entities exist, such that a particular type of measurement of those entities, always produces one of ONLY two results, call them red and green, or +1 and -1.
2) Those same entities do NOT appear/seem to be in EITHER the state red (+1) OR the state green (-1), PRIOR to the measurement. The measurement seems to have CAUSED them to be in the state that is observed.
3) The claim is made that, the set of all classical entities that exhibit BOTH properties 1 and 2 above, is an EMPTY set.
It is point #3 ONLY, that provides the perceived SIGNIFICANCE to the Theorem; NO classical entities behave that way, hence, this behavior is something new and WEIRD. My point is that statement #3 is false. Hence there is NO SIGNIFICANCE to the Theorem, regardless of whether or not it is correct.
Here is another way of stating these three points, from Roger Penrose's discussion of Bell's Theorem, in his book "The Emperor's New Mind" (Oxford University Press, 1989, pages 284-285):
(!) If the settings on the two sides are the same then the results produced by the two measurements always disagree.
(2) If the dials for the settings are spun and set at random, completely independently of one another, then the two measurers are equally likely to agree as to disagree.
(3) It is a remarkable fact that (1) and (2) are inconsistent with any local realistic model.
In the above, think of "settings" and "dials for the settings" as simply specifying the angles at which a pair is coins is observed. Then, if you look at Two Entangled Coins it is OBVIOUS that Penrose's "remarkable fact" is FALSE.
The elephant in the room is that, virtually every physicist on earth, for decades, has BELIEVED that (3) is TRUE. But since it is OBVIOUSLY FALSE, there is no SIGNIFICANCE whatever, to ANY of the experiments, theorems, simulations or controversy; They say absolutely NOTHING about the nature of reality, other than the fact that physicists have been MISINTERPRETING it for decades, and that "COINS ARE NOT GLOVES".
