I Was There
I was there when the Big Bang erupted
I was there when the universe was born
I was there when all matter was sown
I was there when all genes were encoded
I was there when the screens were torn
I was there when entropy ruthlessly ruled
When the planets were still twirling as gases
And black holes filled with energies
When the gravity ghost pulled all matter
Together to make runaway galaxies
I was there when the dinosaurs roamed
The earth for millions of years alone
Before their species instantly disappeared
Leaving your planet with dust all smeared
I was there and I saw what had happened
I could tell you but you wouldn't understand
I was there when Adam bit the Apple
That was meant to seed the Great Garden
I was there when he had to leave Eden
With his beloved Eve to love and grapple
As I weaved the leaves they had to wear
She was ashamed of the whole scam
By now you must wander who I am
I was there when Noah escaped
The big flood and saved what he could
When the prophets relentlessly pleaded
Their people to quit the bad and really be good
When the Pharaohs ruled as universal Gods
At the center of all glories and modes
Using their slaves to build them
Eternal pyramids
What they did was encrypted in their codes
Would you venture to guess who I am?
I was there when people killed each other
In the name of ideas religion or power
It was then that they thought all humans
Were perfect and superior to all
I was there when egotistic heartless fathers
Gladly sacrificed children of their own
When sons killed fathers and mothers
And little ones were murdered by others
When you smashed the atom to burn millions
When biology was medicine and weapons
While chemicals polluted by the mega tons
When your planet was systematically raped
For wealth and power that's bound to be gone
When empires were built to last for ever
And benefit the few with injustice for all
They were all destroyed by greed and carnage
Great shame more than glory
Survived their carnival
No, no that's not who I am
I was there when the mediocrity rule prevailed
When humans realized their uncertain fate
As determinism was hopelessly sought
And chaos was found to be your eternal mate
As freedom of choice could never be bought
I was there when humans stubbornly created
Sophisticated weapons of mass destruction
To pulverize each other again and again
In exchange for the much coveted green bill
When economics as the voodoo of science still
Ordered wasting resources with no restraint
And turn them into polluting trash and gas
While the population bomb
Silently grew its mass
And hunger was rampant not for lack of food
But under the spell
Of the invisible hand's mood
What kind of a perfect being are you man?
Perfect for turning your beautiful planet
Into the largest staunchest garbage can
So by now you can't' wait to know who I am
By the time I tell you will you be there
To finally sober up and wise up soon
Will you be there to all work together
To ever repair the accumulated damage
And finally stop the insane carnage
And make amends for your own salvage
Before the imminent point of no return
I will be there when global warming
Together with the lethal greenhouse effect
Aided by up to now unknown science
Humans will come close to blowing it all
If you stop plucking the wrong strings
And get to be fair
I'll be there to help all and inspire
The wise few that dare with me to prepare
To take on the whirling forces of entropy
And turn that chaos you created
Into serene harmony
Now may I tell you who I really am
I am your primordial building material
I weave the particles in your body and soul
I am the code that runs your genes right
I am the engine of your material form
I am the ray that shines your living light
I am the Super String that weaves your norm
My brothers, cousins and all my sisters
Along with my parents and my ancestors
We all united to weave your times and spaces
And every matter and anti-matter so far
It all began with the strings' original plucking
That made us all vibrate in harmony
Those modes create chaos and order
As we vibrate randomly or in unison
We're tired of your stretching us and pulling
And playing the wrong chords like a moribund
If you continue we'll definitely snap broken
This will scramble your every harmonic
And that'll mean the end of your zoo
For it will breed tunes so a-synchronic
That may spring other beings than you
I live to spin all forces and matter
That hold your being and universe together
And I'll be watching to limit your woes
But please wise up and now don't you cheat me
And play my strings in due harmony
For at the end it's your string that's on the line
As I can weave wiser beings than you
Now that you finally got to know who I am
Be diligently wise and get to befriend me
If you really want to prosper in harmony
For I am your primordial essence
I am your precious and only monogram
I am the Super String that runs your program
