Abstract. In this article, the author aims to once again explain his understanding of time. He positions himself as a dialectical materialist. He has published a book, “The Theory of Nature”. He considers this book to be the foundation of a new dialectical-materialistic physics and cosmology. This book addresses more than 40 fundamental problems in the foundations of physics and cosmogony (cosmology). Among other things, it addresses the problem of natural time. Time proves to be the most important essence of nature. Time proves to be an objective reality. Time proves to be inextricably linked with matter in motion. Time is not mysticism, not esotericism, not subjective impressions. Time is not illusory. Time is real. Time is objective. Time is the most important essence of nature.
Keywords: nature, matter, time, Universe, quantum of matter, quantum of time, objective reality, truth, lie, theory, physics, cosmology, philosophy, philosophy of dialectical materialism
In this article I will try to explain to my esteemed readers my understanding of time.
Let the readers themselves answer the question “What is time?”
Firstly, I firmly adhere to the philosophy of dialectical materialism (PDM). I believe PDM is the only true and scientific philosophy. Within PDM, a scientific dialectical-materialistic worldview is developed. My understanding of time is a completely and entirely dialectical-materialistic understanding of natural time.
Secondly, the question of time, of natural time, was considered and resolved within the framework of my book “Theory of Nature” [3]. In this article, I will constantly refer to this book and a number of my other articles.
I believe that time (natural time) is an objective reality. I believe that time is the most important essence of nature. And what is nature? This question and this problem are examined in my articles:
“Nature as an Objective Reality” [1] and “Once Again about Nature and its Material Principles” [12].
These articles provide my answer to this question.
The main thing in these articles.
Nature is an objective reality that exists outside of our consciousness and independently of our consciousness.
Nature (as a concept) is the most general concept, including all other concepts.
Nature exists absolutely.
Nature cannot not exist. Nature does not have the option of “not existing”.
Nature exists without relation to anything and/or anyone.
Nature self-exists and evolves according to its own laws, its own logic and its own algorithm of evolution.
In essence, these three concepts are identical:
“laws of nature” = “logic of nature” = “algorithm of the evolution of nature”
Nature is (according to my dialectical-materialistic understanding) such a “five”:
< Singularity, matter, emptiness, UCN, FLN > .
At the same time:
Singularity is a unique area of nature or a unique mechanism of nature,
matter is matter presented in the form of matter quanta (EUM) and in the form of particles of material vacuum dust (MVD),
emptiness is just emptiness, the absence of everything,
UCN is a unique constant of nature. It is also a unique and universal constant of the Universe. Its numerical value is UCN = 1.210 256 * 10^ {44},
FLN is the Fundamental Law of Nature. It is the law of the circulation of matter in nature.
That's it. That's all there is to nature, without explanation or clarification. That's the naked truth about nature. That's nature from the perspective of a dialectical materialist and the entire philosophy of dialectical materialism. This is nature without embellishment. Nature is neither mysticism, nor esotericism, nor divine providence. Nature is neither an illusion, nor a dream, nor a fantasy. Nature is neither the embodiment of an absolute idea, nor a product of consciousness. Nature is reality. Nature is objectivity. Nature is objective reality. This is nature as an objective reality that exists outside of our consciousness and independently of our consciousness.
Necessary additions, clarifications, explanations.
Addition 1. The singularity is the source of matter for the Universe. The Universe is the largest material object (system, structure) in nature.
Explanation 2. As the author of the “Theory of Nature” (TN), I believe that the Singularity forms the center of the Universe. However, the Singularity, while being a crucial component of NATURE, is not part of the Universe.
Explanation 3. Both types of matter are the matter of nature. But only matter of the EUM type forms the Universe. Its present quantity in the Universe is the unique, most important, and sole argument of the evolutionary function of the Universe. Its present quantity in the Universe is the unique and most important characteristic of the evolution of the Universe. All other characteristics of the evolution of the Universe are functions of this argument.
Explanation 4. Only matter of the EUM type is taken into account in the material balance of the Universe. Matter of the MVD type is not taken into account in the material balance of the Universe.
Explanation 5. Matter of the EUM type moves away from the Singularity. And matter of the MVD type moves toward the Singularity.
Explanation 6. Matter of the MVD type is the limiting result of matter of the EUM type. After the completion of the evolution of the Universe, all matter of the EUM type is transformed into matter of the MVD type.
Explanation 7. A quantum of matter (EUM) is the smallest quantitative unit of material substance. A quantum of matter is in a state of constant pulsation. The pulsation of a quantum of matter is the internal movement of matter. The pulsation of a quantum of matter is a strictly periodic, rhythmic process.
Explanation 8. A quantum of matter (as the minimum amount of “pure” matter of nature, EUM) gives rise to a material body, which is also called “quantum of matter”. There should be no confusion with the double meaning of the term “quantum of matter”. Matter (EUM, quantum of matter) primary, and a material particle, a material body, a “quantum of matter” is secondary. There's a good analogy here: “The brick is primary, and the brick building is secondary”.
Explanation 9. Conventionally (for the sake of clarity), we can imagine a quantum of matter as a material sphere that periodically contracts and then expands. In this process, finite lower and upper limits of pulsation are reached. Moreover, the lower limit of the quantum's pulsation is not a point or zero limit. It is a well-defined finite limit.
Explanation 10. I consider and call the lower limit of the pulsation of a quantum of matter a grain of matter. This state of a quantum of matter is a “grain of matter”. All grains of matter have the same diameter. The existence of a quantum of matter in the state of “grain of matter” has the same temporal duration for all quanta of matter.
Explanation 11. I consider and call the upper limit of a matter quantum's pulsation an elementary particle (EP). This state of a matter quantum is an “elementary particle”. Different types of elementary particles (proton, neutron, electron, etc.) have different diameter lengths. It is the diameter length of a matter quantum at its upper limit of pulsation that uniquely determines the type of elementary particle (proton, neutron, electron, etc.). It is entirely natural and understandable that a matter quantum's stay in the “elementary particle” state has different durations for different types of elementary particles. The larger the diameter of a quantum of matter at its upper limit of pulsation (the “elementary particle” state), the shorter the time the quantum of matter remains in this state.
Explanation 12. Mathematically, the process of pulsation of a quantum of matter can be represented as a sinusoid. It is clear that the x-axis of this sinusoid is time. The x-axis is the time axis of nature. Time is plotted on the x-axis.
On the ordinate axis, the length of the diameter of a quantum of matter at the corresponding moment in time will be plotted.
It is clear that the graph of this sinusoid will be raised above the abscissa axis by a distance equal to the length of the diameter of a grain of matter.
Note 13. This is a very important note. I believe that the abscissas of the vertices of this sinusoid are fixed moments in time in nature (FMTN or FMT). This is an important, crucial concept in the conceptual framework of my “Theory of Nature”.
Note 14. For my part, I believe that this sinusoid should be a sinusoid with truncated “peaks” (“vertices”) and “troughs”. This will guarantee that the actual, real presence of a quantum of matter within its lower and upper pulsation limits will not be instantaneous (point-like, zero), but will occur within certain finite boundaries of a finite, but non-zero, time interval.
The abscissas of the midpoints of the line segments that form the truncated “vertices” of the sinusoid will also be the abscissas of the “vertices” of the original, primary (before the truncation process) sinusoid. These same abscissas will be the fixed moments in time (FMTN).
Remark 15. Within the framework of my “Theory of Nature” I assume (this is my scientific hypothesis) that the length of the segment between two adjacent FMTNs on the time axis (abscissa axis) is the minimum time duration in nature, and this is the quantum of time (EUT).
The abscissas of the midpoints of the line segments that form the truncated “troughs” of the sinusoid will be the abscissas of the “troughs” of the original, primary (before the truncation process) sinusoid. These abscissas will be the abscissas of the points on the abscissa axis that are the midpoints of adjacent fixed moments of time (FMTN). The duration of the time interval, limited by the midpoints of two adjacent quanta time (EUT), will also be equal to one quantum of time (EUT).
Note 16. The projection of the segment that forms the cut-off “peak” of the sinusoid onto the abscissa axis (time axis) determines the time interval of the actual existence of the elementary particle (EP).
The projections of all the segments forming the truncated “vertices” of the sinusoid onto the x-axis (time axis) form a sequence of time intervals of the actual existence of an elementary particle. Each such time interval of existence will be separated (from the previous or next time interval of existence) by time interval of non-existence of the elementary particle.
That is, in fact and in reality, the process of existence of an elementary particle (EP) will not be a continuous process of existence in time. It will be a discontinuous process in which time intervals of (EP) existence EP and time intervals of (EP) non-existence EP alternate strictly periodically.
This goes against the modern scientific and physical concept of the existence of elementary particles as a continuous process in time.
Note 17. Explanations, clarifications and comments similar to those just given in relation to the lifetime of elementary particles (EPs) also apply in relation to the grain of matter.
Note 18. Important note: A quantum of matter exists continuously in time. Against the backdrop of this continuous existence, there are two types of sequences:
1) a sequence of periodically alternating intervals of existence and non-existence of elementary particles according to their types (proton, neutron, electron, etc.). For each type of elementary particle, this will be its own separate sequence. The center of each interval of existence of an elementary particle will be its own fixed moment in time (FMTN).
2) a sequence of periodically alternating intervals of existence and non-existence of grains of matter. This applies to all grains of matter and will constitute a single, unified sequence. The center of each interval of existence of a grain of matter will be the midpoint between two fixed moments in time (FMTN).
Note 19. The existence (and non-existence) of an elementary particle (EP) and/or a grain of matter occurs (is realized) against the background of the continuous existence (pulsating in the rhythm and tempo of nature) of a quantum of matter (EUM).
This type of existence (for both an elementary particle and a grain of matter) is a kind of discrete time of existence. The discrete unit of existence in the case under consideration is the time interval of existence of either an elementary particle or a grain of matter. The time intervals of existence of elementary particles (EPs) on the one hand and of a grain of matter on the other are in anti-phase.
Remark 20. It is clear that the time intervals of existence (both for an elementary particle and for a grain of matter) are less than the quantum of time (EUT).
Remark 21. It is also clear that the larger the elementary particle, the larger the diameter of the elementary particle, the shorter its own time interval of existence.
Note 22. I believe that vacuum is emptiness and material vacuum dust (MVD). The pair < emptiness, MVD > forms a vacuum.
Explanation 23. Here is a diagram of the circular motion of matter in nature.
… MVD ==> S ==> EUM ==> U ==> MVD ….
In this diagram, S stands for Singularity, U stands for Universe.
This is a schematic representation of the fundamental law of nature (FLN), the law of the circulation of matter in nature.
Explanation 24. Here is a diagram of the algorithm for the evolution of the Universe:
… {MVD ==> S ==> EUM ==> U} |UCN2 ==> MVD ….
The character sequence “UCN2” means that the preceding construct, enclosed in curly brackets, is repeated in the loop UCN2 times.
The same diagram of the algorithm of the evolution of the Universe can be presented in the following equivalent form:
… {{MVD ==> S ==> EUM ==> U} |UCN} |UCN ==> MVD …,
where the pair of symbols “|UCN” means that the preceding construction, enclosed in curly brackets, is repeated in the cycle UCN times.
Explanation 25. Below is a diagram of the algorithm of nature, including the algorithm of the evolution of the Universe:
… {{{MVD ==> S ==> EUM ==> U} |UCN} |UCN ==> MVD} |∞ ….
In this diagram, the pair of symbols “|∞” means that the preceding construct, enclosed in curly braces, is constantly repeated in a loop (or will be repeated in a loop infinitely).
The ellipses at the beginning and end of this diagram mean that nature has no beginning and will never have an end.
Nature has no origin. Nature is causeless. Nature exists absolutely. Nature exists by itself (self-exists), obeying only its own laws, its own logic, and its own evolutionary algorithm. The identity of these concepts has already been established above:
“law of nature” = “logic of nature” = “algorithm of the evolution of nature”.
According to the above diagram, the evolution of nature is a sequence of evolutions of universes . Immediately after the completion of the evolution of one universe, the evolution of another begins. These universes are not connected in any way. No information is transmitted from the universe that has completed its evolution to the universe beginning its evolution, and it is not preserved anywhere in nature. The evolution of each universe begins with a “clean slate”. After the completion of the evolution of a universe, nothing remains but material vacuum dust (MVD). Nature does not keep its own genealogy, does not keep diaries, does not keep its own chronicle. Nature has no archives. Nature has no annals of history. The evolution of each universe begins with a “clean slate”.
After this thorough preliminary preparation, we can talk about the time of nature. Here, two approaches are worth considering. The first approach is related to the view of the quantum of matter and its pulsation. The second approach is related to the view of the Singularity and its functioning (pulsation).
A quantum of matter (EUM) pulsating in the rhythm and tempo of nature.
As established within the framework of the “Theory of Nature”, the quantum of matter (EUM) is in a process of constant internal pulsation. The pulsation of the quantum of matter is a strictly periodic, harmonic (sinusoidal, with truncated “peaks” and “troughs”) natural process. The unique constant of nature UCN = 1.210 256 * 10 ^ {44} determines the frequency of this process. This frequency is related to the natural unit of time of nature (NUT). Moreover,
EUT=NUT/UCN, NUT=UCN*EUT.
A quantum of matter pulsates with a frequency of UCN per one natural Unit of Time (NUT). The unique natural constant UCN plays many roles, including that of natural frequency. The rhythm and tempo of nature are organically linked to this natural frequency. The quanta of matter pulsate at this frequency. The Singularity functions (pulsates) at this frequency. All quanta of matter and the Singularity pulsate strictly synchronously with this frequency.
It's perfectly clear that frequency and time are mutually inverse concepts and quantities. Their relationship can be conceptualized as follows:
time = 1/frequency, frequency = 1/time.
In these equations, 1 refers to the unit of natural time, the natural unit of time (NUT). Within the framework of TN, the relationship between the second (1 s) and the NUT is established:
1 NUT = α s, 1 s=α^{-1} NUT,
where α is a physical quantity, the fine structure constant.
Time (temporal duration) and frequency are rigidly related to each other.
Considering the pulsation of a quantum of matter (EUM) and isolating one cycle (tact) of this pulsation, we conclude that the duration of one pulsation cycle is equal to one quantum of time (EUT). And the measure of this time (EUT, quantum of time) can only be a quantum of matter (EUM). Time is measured by matter. Time is measured exclusively and only by matter. Matter is the universal measure of time. And nothing else but matter (quantum of matter) is present here. Matter is also the measure of everything and everyone in nature. Nature is fundamentally simple. This principle of nature manifests itself remarkably here.
On this basis, we must conclude that time and matter are identical:
time=matter, EUT=EUM.
But in making this conclusion about the identity of time and matter, we must be clearly aware that time and matter are still two essentially different entities of nature, although closely, organically, inseparably connected to each other .
The matter of nature, in the form of a quantum of matter, is in constant motion (internal pulsation, external displacement). Motion is an attribute (the most important property) of matter. And time is the form of existence of matter in motion. And at every fixed moment of time in nature (FMTN), there is a result of this motion.
One cycle of pulsation of a quantum of matter (EUM) does not occur instantly, it occurs in a time equal to one quantum of time (EUT).
Essentially, one cycle of the pulsation of a quantum of matter (EUM) represents a quantum of elementary action. And the result of this action is recorded at fixed moments in time (FMTN).
It’s important to understand that at fixed moments in time in the process of pulsation of a quantum of matter, we have (this is how nature works!), as an accomplished fact, the result of the execution of an elementary quantum of action, which consists of the execution of one beat, a cycle of pulsation of a quantum of matter (EUM).
It is perfectly clear that at fixed moments in time (FMTN), there are instantaneous fixed states of the pulsating quantum of matter (EUM).
This is equivalent to us (or nature itself) recording a video (a thought experiment) of a pulsating quantum of matter at a frequency of UCN frames per natural unit of time (NUT). Then the frames of this video (thought experiment) would show (reflect) instantaneous fixed states of the pulsating quantum of matter (EUM) at fixed moments in time (FMT). And viewing this virtual video would evoke a sensation of the continuous pulsation of the quantum of matter.
Yes, the quantum of matter (EUM) continuously exists in time.
Yes, the quantum of matter continuously pulsates.
Yes, the process of pulsation of a quantum of matter is continuous.
But in our virtual video recording, we will have a discrete sequence of frames. And that's exactly how nature works. The process itself (the continuous flow of the process) of each cycle of the quantum of matter's pulsation is hidden from us by nature, but the results of this process at fixed moments in time (FMT) are accessible to us, placed at our disposal.
More precisely, it should be said that nature itself, at fixed moments in time, displays the results of quanta of elementary actions. In our case, this will be a sequence of frames (snapshots) of instantaneous fixed states of a pulsating quantum of matter (EUM). At fixed moments in time (FMT), the quantum of matter (EUM) is in the state of an “elementary particle”. That is, it will actually be a sequence of states of an elementary particle. Adjacent members of this sequence will be separated from each other in time by one quantum of time (EUT).
This is why we speak of existence in time. This is why we say that motion (pulsation) is the most important property (attribute) of matter, of a quantum of matter (EUM). Time is the form of existence of a quantum of matter and/or an elementary particle. And this form of existence actually manifests itself in the form of frames (snapshots) of instantaneous fixed states of a pulsating quantum of matter (EUM) at fixed moments in time (FMT).
For example, a similar situation occurs with our regular video. A continuous process is recorded at a rate of 24 frames per second. The video is a sequence of frames at fixed moments in time. But here, these fixed moments in time are determined by the video camera itself. When viewing a video, we see not individual frames, but a continuous process. This is a property of our consciousness. Only in this case, we artificially set fixed moments in time using video equipment. In nature, fixed moments in time (FMT) are determined by nature itself.
In addition to the internal pulsation of matter, a quantum of matter (as a material body) constantly and unrelentingly moves externally. In one quantum of time (EUT), a quantum of matter (EUM) moves one quantum of length (EUL). This displacement occurs at the maximum velocity in nature (MVN). In this case, the quantum of elementary action will result in the displacement of a quantum of matter (EUM) by a quantum of length (EUL) in a time equal to the quantum of time (EUT), from its original location.
Singularity pulsating in the rhythm and tempo of nature.
The Singularity is a unique, special mechanism of nature. It's entirely possible that the Singularity is a special realm of nature. It's entirely possible that the Singularity is a natural material oscillator operating at the UCN frequency. This is its operating frequency. This frequency is the natural frequency. Nature and the Universe operate at this frequency. The quanta of matter pulsate at this frequency. I previously spoke of the rhythm and tempo of nature. Now this concept receives its concrete explanation in the frequency of nature and the Universe, in the pulsation (operating) frequency of the Singularity.
Both the Singularity and all quanta of matter pulsate synchronously in the same rhythm and tempo of nature. Such is nature.
The functioning of the Singularity is a strictly periodic, harmonic process. During each pulse cycle, the Singularity emits UCN quanta of matter (EUM) into the surrounding vacuum. They are emitted in different directions. These are UCN directions. Each emitted quantum of matter (EUM) receives an equal impulse from the Singularity. Thanks to this impulse, the quantum of matter begins to move by inertia, rectilinearly and uniformly at a certain speed (the velocity of radiation), away from the Singularity. Here it is, in the end, the root cause of the inertial motion of quanta of matter and elementary particles and material bodies.
Еhe author of the “Theory of Nature” and this article remains unclear as to how and at what point in time a quantum of matter “transforms” into a specific elementary particle. This problem awaits a solution. This problem is waiting for its solution and its researchers.
In the situation with the Singularity, there is a simultaneous, instantaneous, synchronous UCN of quanta of action in relation to the UCN of quanta of matter (EUM) upon their emission by the Singularity.
We can also speak of a generalized quantum of action inherent to the Singularity itself. This generalized quantum of action of the Singularity is characterized by a set of UCN elementary quanta of action in relation to each individual quantum of matter (EUM). As a result of the generalized quantum of action of the Singularity, UCN quanta of matter (EUM) will shift from the Singularity by a distance equal to one quantum of length (EUL) during one quantum of time (EUT). The emission velocity of a quantum of matter (EUM) from the Singularity will be the maximum velocity of nature (MVN). At each fixed moment of time (FMT), at a distance of one quantum of length (EUL) from the Singularity, there will be UCN of emitted quanta matter (EUM). All of this will be a fixed state in nature, in the Universe, in the immediate vicinity of the Singularity.
Everything written above about quanta of matter (EUMs) directly manifests itself in the situation with the Singularity. Nothing fundamentally new appears here. Matter is a universal measure of time here, too.
Perhaps it's time to put an end to this.
Sincerely
Robert Yusupov from Vladivostok, author of the “Theory of Nature”, independent researcher, dialectical materialist, Marxist, communist.
