Ulla Mattfolk What Lorraine is saying touches on something that many people in theoretical physics are trying to understand. The equations describe constraints, but they don’t by themselves supply the substrate that runs those constraints in real time.
So indeed, the equations are not enough because they seem static, if I can say .The physical structures that carry information,fields, particles, .....seem important, and these logical relationships appear to be a fundamental key for having viable systems, motion, and even evolution.
But where is this information? Is it in general relativity, like codes with strings, or in the wave function and Hilbert space, or in the set of fields permeating spacetime,or in dark energy, as I think? We don’t really know. That’s why we can extrapolate possibilities, ontologically speaking.
There are these logical relationships between charges, particles, fields, momentum, spin… If we consider a scalar field for dark energy, or perhaps a tensorial one, it becomes interesting, because then we would have a carrier for the information and a physical structure. This information must be physical, logically speaking, if we consider Landauer’s principle, which tells us that logical operations such as if, then, or, and, true, is, permit concrete physical operations,and therefore categories. Thus, we can see the negentropy and lifetime of systems, or ordinary matter, evolving and living.
We can say, in this logic, that the universe writes its own history and that we have storage and processes, like programs,like a computation, but with physical structures. The 3D spherical volumes with the three systems merging could answer this, if we consider states in 2D, mixed states inside in 3D, and other deeper mixed states in 3D involving hidden parameters. This dark energy intrigues me, and this possible 0D nature, because we have a kind of causal order with these deeper parameters.
We need a kind of processor, and dark energy fits well as the carrier of information that gives the universeand even spacetime its logic. It influences everything at all scales. The fact that it has negative pressure or behaves as an antigravitational system could, through motion, balance the other two gravitational systems. That may explain negentropy.
If the physical structure of dark energy is informational, then it provides the logical relationships for quantum processes,it is like a program with memory. This program is intriguing if it’s true, considering the logical rules, consciousness, and possible updates in the program due to consciousness, and if the 0D nature corresponds to an omnipotent, infinite, eternal consciousness. The updates so and the evolution are intriguing ontologically speaking.
In any case, we need structures for information, and to persist or propagate, we need carriers. Computation must have a physical explanation to go from abstraction to physicality.
Dark energy could be the global field that maintains coherence of this informational network,like an hardware. I don’t assert this, of course, but ontologically speaking, we need causality. We need hardware to compute, processors, and logical relationships between physical structures, whereas mathematics only describes. That’s why mathematics cannot be the primary truth, but information and physical structures can be, logically speaking.
