The phrase above "...argued that time does not exist at all" shows how constrained we are by space and matter. Of course time doesn't 'exist'; it occurs. We think that 'things' [matter] can exist in a dimension. We never grant that (kinetic) energy might occur on its own in a dimension (time).

Our human sense of a flow of time only suggests that there are some physical conditions from which that sense emerges. Yet our senses also tend to lead us to discount Time in any real way. The problem still remains that for there to be measurement of observation there must be something in between any two detectable objects we observe. If there is neither Time or Space in a physical reality then our measurements are predicated on a comparison of prior observations in which we arbitrarily assign a span of duration and a span of distance with the assumption that the scale of each is the same as the other. But there exists no observable to base that assumption on, only that everything isn't in the same place all at once.

All measurement therefore depends on some other measure evolved from Earth based common notions of size and motion intuitively conceived in antiquity. Eventually, that ad hoc methodology did arrive at some irrefutable if inconvenient conclusions, perhaps the most notable being the calculable constancy of light velocity by Maxwell. Not for all the commonly cited rationale however valid, but for the often ignored simple condition of the light velocity proportionality between the intensity of the electric field and the magnetic field in a point charge; because for any chemical reaction to take place in one locality, that same proportionality would have to be the same for any chemical reactions to be predictable in any other localities. The postulates of Special Relativity are a consequence of that inconvenient truth.

So we do have at least one universal bounded interval from which to protract scales of measure in reality. And that argues well for a multidimensionality of physically real Spacetime. Let the games begin!

Time. I believe that when our mind faces difficult concepts, it tends to take refuge in the idea of an absolute infinity — especially that of time, even more so than of space.

I have developed a cosmological model in which the Universe lies on the surface of a 4D sphere expanding according to
𝑟 = 𝑐𝑡.

I placed the Big Bang at the center of the 4-sphere and, starting from a few reasonable assumptions, was able to derive special relativity as valid on the surface and therefore limited to the Universe itself.

To check the (different) physics at the time of recombination, I used the Galilean concept of time — defined at the center of the hypersphere and identical for all observers in the Universe — to estimate the Universe’s volume during its various cosmic eras.
For this reason, I do not consider my model inferior to the standard one. Galilean time may not be elegant, but I do not see the postulate of a cosmological time for a Big Bang occurring everywhere as logically superior.
In any case, I believe that time — however one chooses to think of it — remains a fundamental source of reflection.

But with the time category, seemingly we don’t so much consciously experience it: seemingly we can only think of it in terms of number change in other categories; we do a mental computation and come up with the idea of time.

So, is time an actual dimension with associated measurable numbers, or is time a computation?

From a physics standpoint, specifically within Einstein's theory of relativity, time is an integral part of the fabric of the universe. It's not just a concept but a fundamental dimension, similar to the three spatial dimensions (length, width, and height).

Yes, that's exactly right. In a way, time is not an independent category, but a label we use to measure change or movement. The constancy of the speed of light (c) in Einstein's physics inextricably links the measure of time to the measure of distance.

I'd say that time has a one-way arrow only because time is a marker, or knowledge, that change has occurred, not a dimension where one could move forwards and backwards. I.e. a type of awareness/ consciousness exists in the low-level world.

But this view presumably wouldn't work in the case that numbers (that apply to categories like relative position) smoothly morph into other numbers: the numbers would have had to jump, i.e. number assignments to the categories would have had to occur. I.e. a type of agency exists in the low-level world.

So, this is a different view of what is going on in the low-level world.

And this is also not an instant or a moment in time. In this upper limit of pulsation, a quantum of matter is an elementary particle.
Matter is the most important essence of nature. Matter is an objective reality.

Within the framework of the “Theory of Nature” (TN), the problem of time in nature has also been solved.
Time is an objective reality. Time is, like matter, the most important essence of nature. Time is organically inextricably linked with moving (pulsating) matter.

The pulsation of a quantum of matter is a strictly periodic harmonic process in nature. One cycle of the pulsation of a quantum of matter is carried out in the minimum time in nature for one quantum of time. It is absolutely clear that the time duration of one cycle of the pulsation of a quantum of matter can be measured only by a quantum of matter. After all, there is nothing in nature except moving (pulsating) matter.
Due to this, we must state the symbolic identity of time and matter of nature on the Planck scale of existence: time = matter. In our limiting case of considering a quantum of time and a quantum of matter, we must state their quantitative equality: a quantum of time = a quantum of matter. But at the same time, we must be fully aware that time and matter are essentially different entities of nature. But these are organically inseparable entities; they can only exist together.

Moreover, we have every right to talk about the indivisible triune essence of nature “matter & movement (pulsation) & time”. All this is realized by NATURE in a quantum of matter, pulsating in the rhythm and tempo of nature. At the same time, movement (pulsation) is an attribute (an integral property of matter), and time is a form of existence of moving (pulsating) matter. This is a natural trinity. This is moving (pulsating) matter.

A quantum of matter is the real material “first brick” of the universe. A quantum of matter generates elementary particles.

In addition to pulsation as an internal movement of matter, a quantum of matter also participates in external movement. This is a continuous movement. In one quantum of time, a quantum of matter moves externally by one quantum of length. It is clear that this external movement of a quantum of matter (and an elementary particle) occurs at the maximum speed in nature.

The main thing I wanted to say about time in my previous message is that time is not an illusion, time is not a fantasy, time is not a fiction, time is not an idealistic “invention” of our consciousness.
Although a person does not have a sense organ “time”, a “sense of time” is inherent to a person.
But time is, first of all, an objective reality, time is the most important essence of nature.
And from this, from nature, a person has a “sense of time”. The time of nature is primary, and the “sense of time” in a person is secondary.
