As I said, what I am talking about is mathematics, how mathematics works, and what is a mathematical system.

E.g. we symbolically represent the real-world with mathematical symbols (for categories, equations, and numbers). But no amount of categories, equations, and numbers are sufficient to represent a viable moving mathematical system.

Schneider and Bailey are talking about their ideas about the physics of the world, which are irrelevant to the issue I am talking about. I'm talking about how mathematics works, and what are the necessary component parts of a viable moving mathematical system.

We represent the world mathematically. So, the actual issue is: how does a mathematical system work?

Physicists use experimentally-derived mathematical models of the world to infer things about the world. This has been incredibly successful.

Unfortunately, these models are nothing but a set of static relationships, despite the delta or partial derivative symbols which might give the illusion of movement.

It is well known that a set of static relationships can’t explain why the world would ever move, or continue to move.

To model a moving system requires the use of algorithmic statements, as opposed to the mathematical statements which can only ever model static relationships.

These algorithmic statements show that a viable moving multipart system requires an aspect that is conscious of the multipart mathematical situations, and an aspect that freely initiates movement in the numbers in response to the multipart mathematical situations.

That consciousness of situation is a basic requirement of a viable moving multipart real-world system, and
That the ability to respond to a situation, i.e. the ability to jump the numbers, is a basic requirement of a viable moving multipart real-world system.

Lorraine Ford Like you know I play guitar and piano, and we can compare the music with what you tell, imagine we ear a music but we don t see nor the instrument , nor the person playing but we ear the music and so we can describe it and decompose it , but in a sense it is a static description because we don t see the instrument and the player, so the same for an equation , let s tale F equal m a , the force in the newtonian mechanic is the mass multiplicated by the acceleration, so we describe a system but there too it is static and we dont have a cause of why the objects are in motions and accelerations, so we need to go from this static to this dynamic and for this we need to know more about the primary informations and why they know what do and why they are in motions. Maybe the primary 3d spherical quantum series are in motions naturally and after the informations and this 0D omnipotent permit the complexity and reality, I don t assert of course but we need a cause permitting this, regards

What we can infer is that consciousness of situation is required, and that the ability to freely respond to situation is required.

If you want to symbolically represent a moving system, e.g. our real-world moving system, you need to use an algorithm. An algorithm is a set of statements which use special logical connective symbols.

Equations, i.e. statements which use special mathematical symbols, e.g. the equations that symbolically represent “law of nature” relationships between categories like mass or position, are OPTIONAL. However, in our real-world moving system, there ARE such relationships.

Basically, an algorithm symbolically represents the 2 or 3 necessary aspects of a viable moving system:

Knowledge/ consciousness of situation, in terms of what set of categories and associated numbers are simultaneously true, from a point of view within the system. E.g. this consciousness of situation might be represented the following way: (category1=number1 AND category2=number2 AND category3=number3) IS TRUE
Evaluation or analysis of this knowledge/ consciousness of the situation (optional)
Movement, i.e. number jumps for the numbers that apply to specific categories, in response to the knowledge/ consciousness or analysis/ evaluation of the situation.

However, it is clear that many people are stuck in the quasi-religious belief that our real-world moving system can be represented with a set of equations.

Binary digits are a manmade concept; binary digits only exist in the minds of human beings. The facts are that a computer/ AI can’t know if human beings have set up the computer using the LOWER voltages to represent the binary digit ONE, OR if human beings have set up the computer using the HIGHER voltages to represent the binary digit ONE.

In other words, the computer/ AI can’t know that human beings are using the voltages as symbols: the computer/ AI can’t know that the voltages are not to be taken at face value.

In other words, the computer/ AI can’t know what the voltages or arrays and arrangements of voltages are meant to mean.

ALL the so-called “AI creativity” is in fact the human creativity of the humans that set up the computers/ AIs.

It is clear that most people are completely ignorant of the facts about the difference between actual voltages in computers/ AIs and the manmade concept of binary digits that has been, in effect, superimposed on the voltages. People are ignorant of the facts about computers and/ or have failed to analyse the basic facts about computers.

People (including the mathematician who wrote the article that Ulla referenced) are clearly completely unaware of the basis upon which computers operate. Instead, they focus on the superficial appearances and outputs of computers/ AIs, which is a COMPLETELY UNSCIENTIFIC WAY OF LOOKING AT COMPUTERS/ AIs. People are ignorant of the facts about computers and/ or have failed to analyse the basic facts about computers.

As opposed to the completely unstable basis upon which people are claiming that computers/ AIs are conscious and/or intelligent and/or creative, actual REAL-WORLD CONSCIOUSNESS is built from the ground up on the stable foundations of matter that has a point-of-view consciousness of real-world mathematical situations.

The secure and stable basis of higher-level real-world consciousness is matter’s low-level consciousness of low-level real-world mathematical situations, where consciousness of low-level mathematical situations can only be represented algorithmically, e.g., something like:

(category1=number1 AND category2=number2 AND category3=number3) IS TRUE.
