There are no experimental results of, interferometer involved quantum experiments ,that can't just as well be explained by waves in a divisible external environment filling substance, carrying an indivisible detectable particxle. The divisible wave undetecxtable, except by the interference pattern due to recombination of the parts of it. Corresponding with the hydrosdynamic bouncing oil droplet model.
'Entanglement' experiments are equally well explained by the existence of correlated absoluite particles created as a pair and pre-existing as a template for the partal contextural results,.
Superposition and entanglement belong to a particular explanatory framework, not neccesarily correctly modeling observation independent reality. Object permanence is ignored as is the likelihood of illusion which is a known phenominum that occurs with lack of information.
Alternative Models of Reality
Young’s double slit experiment is a way of demonstrating the ubiquitous substance that hosts divisible waves when disturbed by release of sub atomic particles that are not under normal, everyday, circumstances divisible.
Recombination of the divided waves beyond the slits gives wave interference, constructive and destructive.
Alteration of environmental conditions provides areas more and less suitable for carrying a particle to the screen. This results overtime in the build up of a banded interference pattern from individual impacts. When photons are used the brightness of a band corresponds to the number of photons hitting the screen. More suitable areas of the wave disturbance after recombination for carrying the particle give the most hits and are brightest, the least suitable, the least hits and are dark.

Semi determinism, shared constraint and control of free will
Within Einstein’s space-time continuum, determinism reins supreme. Past, present and future, all are happening with the same status. The depiction of the universe in that model, is completely static object. Observer’s within, somehow separate from it, experience change as they move through it along their particular World line. Like a movie replay nothing changes. despite the illusion that it does. In this model of the universe cause and effect are not really cause and effect as nothing is caused and nothing results from the preceding circumstances. It just has that appearance.
A partial solution is possible by having the time dimension extend from past to present, with an unwritten, open future. This still leaves the theoretical possibility of Grandfather type paradoxes
The many Worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, in which there is a World for each possibility that could be actualized. At observation or measurement by an observer which corresponds to when a wavefunction mathematically representing the possibilities in superposition is altered to represent the effect of an observer looking at the outcome states or measurement.
Instead of just one outcome state being actualized as in the Copenhagen interpretation, all outcomes become real in different Worlds. This would mean gross violation of conservation of energy. One World’s worth becoming at least two, though it may be argued that the law of conservative of energy only applies where there is a single universe.
Instead lets consider uni-temperal foundational passage of time and no time dimension of the universe of existing things /including materials and objects:. Time associated with the pattern of the Observation independent universe always Now. At one time throughout. What people see is irrelevant to what it is, its existing rather than its appearance.
If the history of a person, as an example of an object, is considered historically in such a universe; their history can be imagined set out along a time line from birth to the present. With cause and effect, internal and external, showing what happens next and where they go throughout their life. The line doesn’t actually exist Now. Though the effects of encounters on the journey can have effects subsequently by alteration to the internal state, maybe metabolically, maybe psychologically, having affected the working of the body for example or brain development.
Imagine now the person represented as a blue sphere in one location Now.(The unseen, one universal time, everywhere ) The self propelling sphere, with internal, adjustable mechanism Where it goes next and what it interacts with next will depend on the external ‘landscape of possibilities. As well as the internal drives and inhibitions. Motivation, drives and inhibition of them come from the limbic system. These are also affected by factors in the external environment.
Motivation
Fear of : failure pain, penalty, punishment , humiliation. embarrassment, verbal abuse, loss of kudos./social status, loss of time to do something else with more reward!<
Anticipation of reward for success, pleasure,, praise, monetary gain, kudos/social status, self satisfaction
Likelihood of success vs failure. A worth it or not calculation
Curiosity- is there potential benefit or threat
emotional drives
Anger (can be a response to disappointment - attempt to make conditions more favorable for the individual),
Seeking (for resources to enable survival of the individual, or potential mates, other resources to make life easier or more pleasant)
Lust (drive to ensure reproduction of the species)
Rage ( emergency protection of individual’s life),
Contentment (All’s well, cease striving to conserve energy/) Depression (Maybe ill, lack of social support, inescapable hardship or unfavorable conditions cease activity, wait for help or until conditions improve, rest and recuperate)
Fear-(preparation for fight or flight response to feared stimulus
This will depend on innate personality, amongst other determinants affecting confidence and ambition, religious education, secular education, political education, family attitudes and circumstances, friends attitudes, financial means, practical means, health, fitness, nutritional status, hydration, attitude to responsibilities and duty. Fear and self confidence may be increased or decreased according to imposition of law and bylaws nd enforcement of them, local and national policy/ authoritarianism, interplay with adore mention ed modifiers of drive and inhibitions.
As there can be seen, there are lots of internal factors that affect our response and reaction to the environment we are currently in
the external landscape of possibilities_
Think again of a person like a ball rolling through a landscape where the places events, conditions are depicted as an abstract landscaper of hills A dip in the landscape - Staying in a location the deeper and so header to get out of sot the person is more likely to stay and so on.
Each possibility has a likelihood of happening or existing and also of or each person being attractive, repulsive or neutral at each Now. The motivation, given by the interplay of drivers and inhibitions oh the person could be simulate by adjusting the motion of the’ ball’ s interaction with the external environment’s landscape of possibilities.
Where does that leave determinism? There are many factors internal and external and influencing the outcome. I haven’t talked about other people who are possibility both influencers and themselves influenced by the environment and their own drives and inhibitions. How they affect the person., will depend on whether they are competitors or collaborates, somewhere in between or irrelevant tot the person as there is no interaction. As if an inconsequential part of the background scenery,
How much influence does the person have over the material environment and happenings. That depends om the person and the environment they happen to be in, and what happens
How much influence does the person have over their internal environment. Partial. As children we may have little choice over our exposure to outside influence. As adults we have some contr
,diet, exercise, sleep, health supplements, emotional regulation, addressing health’ problems where possible.
The delivery of the wrong books to Houdini, over which he had no control completely changed the impact of his life on the World. Especially theatrical entertainment and the presentation of illusion for entertainment, of the wealthier classes. But he chose to read the books he chose to pay for lessons and he chose to practice relentlessly to hone his skill and become a great magician. [idea to reiterate Houdini by Alex Parry] A farmer with a combine harvester can transform hundreds of acres of farmland a tourist can not.
How much influence does the person have over their internal environment. Partial. As children we may have little choice over our exposure to outside influence. As adults we have some control over exposures.
does a horse fixed to a cart have free will? it does not have freewill over whether to pull the cart, but it may have free will in other matters . it may choose toeat a proffered sugar cube . It may choose to eat the oats in its nose bag. It may choose to empty it’s bladder.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

A World line can be seen more like a sledging run than random path or predetermined route. You would not choose to pick an unfavourable path, You have some, though limited, choice of where you go and end up. Maybe we could imagine a number of different mountain paths we could take. Each constrained between walls of snow, keeping you on the path. You might, nevertheless, choose to take a shortcut path or even go cross country a little, though there is more risk and it might require more energy.

A response to Tim Maudlin's desparaging remarks about Kant on YouTube and questioning the necessity of apriori material existence as Einstein's special relativity asks for. I reiterate what
I said on the George Ellis Existence thread. This maybe a better place for that.
Kant was on to something .He realises the need for an obsever independent material existence as well as what we are aware of, our relative perception, but doesn't really explain why this is neccessary.
The necessity of apriori material existence before observer involvement Georgina Woodward
Human beings do not see material things /objects-themselves. They see liknesses ( observation products also called Image realities) which are formed from the reciept and processing of sensory data obtained at that particular place, at that time, by that observer. What is seen corresponds to the brain activity that is stimulated .In particular the visual cortex where the image is identified and parts of the brain where associated memory and learning is located. The sensory data that is used to provide vision is photon particles ,released by material objects into the environment and carried by waves though it. Only when processed, is the likeness seen. it corresponds to the object when the sesnsory data was released not when recieved by an obsever. Thus it is seen as it was not neccesarily as it is now/ has become. In order to shed sensory data an object must necessarily exist as such.

- Whatever else the theory needs. Physics is a human science made by humans for humans ,helping us understand our experience of the world /universe that we inhabit.
We experience it via our senses (and products) and human made, human accesssible techhnology, not directly. i.e.selected results or observations- viewpoints
The way it is expreerienced has an effect on what it sems to be to us, assuning eroneously direct access.

Absolute simultaneity, the preffered foliation of time, a-Now comes from the seqential change of all physical reality, becoming by recycling, reuse and change rather than replication.
Relativity comes from how we experIence the environment, via sensory stimulus reciept and processing. The sensory data is affected by absolute change of physical reality but when it is recieved also matters.

Response to 1st half of video.
Maudlin supports the idea that there has tobe a direction of time despite it being time reversaible, This is what gives us before and after, cause and effect.

Georgina Woodward
Continued- He says that Newton thought their was a direction of time and Newtonian physics has a foliation or slicing of space and time that is global, an event affecting the whole world and universe at once.
T. Maudlin says that in his opinion a return to a singular absolute global/universal foliation is needed by modern physics.
Einstein's relativity, SR and GR completely 'did away with' foliation of time and a singular Now.
T. Maudlin argues that Einstein still thinks there is passage of time, proper time with a direction globally. He argues that Subjectively individual obsevers may disagree, their individual, only local viewpoint is irrelevant to the universal process of evolution accoss time, 'globally'.

About past, present, and future having the same equally valid status in Relativitry. A. Erlitzer says that there is intuitively something special about Now . Even though Mudlin sets out the argument that past, present and future must exist in order for different contadictory slicing or the passage of time to happen as It does according to SR. He does not however take this further by saying it which way the 'events' persist, presumably imagined as being the material 3D reality that has been supeseeded set out along the time dimension. An existing realm, as real as the present, (that might be visited by a time traveller.) I don't agree with this ,as information released at the time of an event can persist in the environment and be recieved later as sensory input.
So the process of passage of time (recycling and reuse of the material part of the universe ) continues and with it universal becomming.
Georgina Woodward
The sequential nature of historical events is set out. Later on T. maudlin argues that a person seeing a star explode in the present is actually witnessing somthing that happened long ago. The person is only now being informed of it. He says it is similar for all events, in that we are seeing what is already the past. I agree that the event is not really happening in the present. No mention is made by either guest of the observer producing a partial simulation from sensory data recieved from the environment, released into it at the time the event materially occured.
Georgina Woodward
An observer does not recreate the entire event, only that which can be made using the sensury data available at that location, That gives a particular viewpoint in space at a particular time.

The quantum of vision, visual stimulation, is te photon particle. These are shed into the external enviroment by matter, abd absorbed from it by matter. If the matter is a phiotireceotor cell, containg a photoresponsive pigment, a particular wavelength of input vibrational energy will stimulate a response. Different cells respond to different wavelengths.

The shed photon particles affect the surrounding (non matter) substance , causing its vibration.
They are also affected by it. The location of the particle is affected by the interference pattern of waves combining after separation. BOUNCING OIL DROPLET experimentes provide avisual analogy.

This is not a particle wave as described by the wave function of quantum mechanics but an actual particle produced by the matter atom and interacting with the already present (non matter ) filled environment. This allows there to be a viable alternative explanation of the double-slit experiment.

A photon particle, quantum of vision, provides the wavelength of visible light that a phoreceptor cell is able to respond to via interaction with the pigment contained by the cell. Or it can activate a photocell belonging to a device such as a ditgital camera or robot. OR cause reaction in a light sesitive film of a film camera. Photons also give relative position information , of the many photons input -after passing through a suitable lens. The relative position of parts of the source object, when the photons were shed is knowable from this. The multiples of photons arriving at a photoreceptor gives total energy or intensity (brightness) information. The various inputs , suitable quantum , position, intensity are used in processing that eventually leads onto subject recognition process and image/semblance formed. Often along with associations, such as name , memories and learning connected with the source object identified. Wavelength is converted to Colour product if its a bright light adaption cone cell that's stimulated, lower intensity input is insufficient to stimulate a cone cells but can stimulate monochrome rod cells.

We need a correct understanding of passage of time, including why two dimensions that relate to it are needed, in order to include what we see there, as well as material existence.
Also we need to be using the correct number of spatial dimensions that apply to the real material World / Universe, existing -Now. and vision, Treating block time as history of the material world, that isn’t extant laid out along an imagined time line.
Correct or better understanding of photons and how light is transmitted together with self similarity of nature at different scales, Using the corrections together with relativity. To have both what occurs unseen and products of vision as parts of physics. Both important but not the same.
